Magic Sat: testing in progress in Germany
In November Germany’s biggest-selling recreational vehicle magazine, Promobil, installed a Magic Sat Digital satellite antenna on its lab camper. Both the publishers of the magazine and Teleco were equally satisfied to be starting this long-term test. For almost a whole year the magazine’s tester will be travelling all over Europe so as to put this Teleco-built automatic tracking satellite through its paces. The first article with the results thus-far obtained will be published over the next few months; then, towards the second half of 2006 a final assessment will be given. |

Magic Sat Easy launched
A few weeks ago an advertising campaign designed to promote the launch of Teleco’s latest accessory, the auto-tracking Magic Sat Easy antenna, was launched. This product has already proved to be a big hit with the public at fairs in Duesseldorf, Rimini, Bern and Tulln. The Magic Sat Easy antenna was developed to extend the Teleco range even further and so meet the needs of camping enthusiasts all over Europe. The most obvious advantage of the Magic Sat Easy is that it is just so easy to use: the satellite selection function (7 in all) and on/off control are operated via a control panel fixed to the wall of the camper. The second big advantage is that the antenna can be connected to the user’s own home receiver (e.g. SKY TV) following the purchase of a small 220/12 V inverter. |

Caravan speed limits raised
It is often the case that the most important news concerning the recreational vehicle industry comes from up north, in Germany. This time the news regards higher speed limits for caravans. Decisive action by the German Ministry of Transport has now raised this limit to 100 kph. Frequent motorway users will be more than satisfied by this development as they will be well aware that queues frequently form along narrow tracts of motorway, often as a result of slow-moving caravans. To be able to travel at 100 kph caravans must not exceed a weight of 3.5 tons, must feature an ABS braking system and be no more than six years old. |
