Teleco purchases a 3D printer for prototypes
As part of its 'time-to-market' improvement strategy Teleco SpA has introduced a rapid prototyping system into its design department. The 3D printing system, supplied by Stratasys Inc., allows three-dimensional items to be made extremely quickly. “This solution allows us to obtain and check all mechanical details within an incredibly short space of time while enhancing the quality of the finished product. Installed in July 2006, it has so far been used to make over 30 3-D items”, states Daniele Banfi, director of the R&D facility at Teleco SpA. |

Teleco products and ISO 7637 standards
Teleco SpA and Schaffer Holding A.G. have reached an agreement for the installation of an on electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) Test system; the purpose is to control conducted emissions on 12, 24 and 48-Volt power leads.
The test system, one of the first to be installed in Italy, will allow Teleco products to be certified as compliant with severe ISO 7637 standards. "The development of electronic products for leisure vehicles ", states Raul Fabbri, a partner of Teleco SpA, "will increasingly require enhanced attention to electrical and magnetic interference aspects. While our products are not subject to the rigid standards governing the 'automotive' industry we nevertheless believe it is important that they function properly even in the event of particularly intense EMC interferences". The recently acquired system is able to simulate all conducted emissions as per ISO 7636 and can also simulate various personalised signals that mirror the information provided by automobile makers. The same system can also record any interfering phenomena (such as that detected inside a motorhome) and reproduce it in the laboratory. |
