More than 200,0000 leisure vehicles sold in 2006

A recent press release by the European Caravan Federation showed that leisure vehicle sales in Europe rose yet again in 2006. The recorded increase was 2.8 %, taking the total to 209,142.
This growth is largely being driven by the booming motor-home segment, which expanded by 8.7%.
Overall sales in the UK came to 44,405, in Germany 43,648 and in France 34,779 while, among the emerging markets, Norway demonstrated outstanding growth potential with an increase of +22.5% (7793 vehicles).

FLAT SAT

Flat Sat: the super-flat antenna!

Teleco Spa, working in collaboration with an Italian aeronautical research and technology facility, has developed the entire die-cast aluminium load-bearing structure according to criteria normally used for jet aircraft!
This technology has allowed the support arm and other components to be made both ultra-lightweight and super-thin – yet without in any way compromising mechanical strength. The result is that the total height of the Flat Sat has been lowered by 5 cm, reducing it to just 16 cm and so making entry of the vehicle into the garage considerably easier.
The aerodynamic coefficient (cx) has also been significantly improved. When in its closed position, the antenna ’s streamlined shape efficiently cuts through the air that flows back against it when the vehicle is on the move - and, of course, better streamlining means greater fuel savings.
Mass production of this self-tracking satellite antenna is expected to begin by the end of the year.
