German second-hand market continues to expand
In 2009 Germany’s second-hand camper market expanded considerably.
Between January and September German camper enthusiasts exchanged 39,305 campers and 46,787 caravans; compared to figures for 2008, that’s a 1.5 % increase for campers and a 4.5% jump for caravans.
This trend, overall a pretty positive one, was largely driven by the regions of Eastern Germany where increases have been as high as 12%.
"This data confirms, then, that the general level of interest in leisure vehicles remains very high and that is, for us, an encouraging signal" stated Hans Karl Sternberg, manager of the CIVD (Caravaning Industrie Verbandes) association. |
